As a drummer and a bassist I can 100% confirm learning by ear is one of the best skills you can cultivate as a musician and easily the most valuable one that I have. I can't stand the transcriptions you find on the internet.
Guitar, bass and drum tabs & chords with free online tab player. One accurate tab per song. Huge selection of 500,000 tabs. No abusive ads. Led Zeppelin.

It's like the people that post them have never touched an instrument before. Even when they're right they're wrong, and the only way you'll ever be able to tell is by having the ability to hear it for yourself.About a year ago I was being super lazy and tried to look up an Opeth bass part and got so pissed at all the tabs that I just closed the computer, grabbed my headphones, and ended up transcribing it by ear. The tabs all disagreed with each other and even when the notes were right they had you playing it in the most counter-intuitive way possible. It was like they went one note at a time through the whole song and comepletely ignored where your fingers were.Drums are even worse.
It's virtually impossible to find accurate drum parts on the internet for like 90% of bands. So much so that I don't even have a specific story to vent about. They all suck.

The only real way to learn drum parts is to get officially released drum books (which can still be wrong), or to just get your shit together and use your ears.
